When the developers of 88Hundred Collins were looking for a place to site their luxury home-style customized lofts, they wanted a beach-side location with a small-town feel to match their vision of comfortable, cozy and welcoming.
They selected Surfside, FL, as the place that best reflected their vision for an intimate boutique residence in an upscale, yet friendly, community. Surfside is known for its luxury beachfront hotels, distinctive world-class shopping, and its culturally diverse restaurants, not to mention its mile of pristine beach. Thus, 88Hundred Collins was born.
As it turns out, this judgment has now been validated by the users of the internationally known travel website, Expedia.com. It has just named Surfside as the most comfortable city for travelers in 2016 out of 101 possible destinations.
To reach this designation, Expedia pulled data from millions of verified Expedia user reviews to determine the 101 American cities with the top hotel comfort ratings. Each city on the list received at least 100 reviews, and Expedia ranked them based on a comfort level as reported by its users.
But Expedia made it clear that the basis for its award extended beyond just excellence in hotel accommodations. In awarding Surfside this honor, Expedia had this to say:
“Surfside slid into the number one spot on the list. The most comfortable city of them all, Surfside is a slice of vintage America, where white picket fences border pastel homes and children eat ice cream cones down by the seaside. Tourists venture to this Florida city to experience its nostalgic charm, but sea turtles like to visit its shores, too. Travel here during nesting season to watch the sea turtles in action, and then pass the time bike riding along the waterfront, window shopping on Harding Avenue, and dining out at local favorites, such as 26 Sushi & Tapas.”
If you haven’t yet experienced the charm of Surfside, we invite you to visit, and while you’re here explore the site for 88Hundred Collins, scheduled to open in 2018.
