Once you’ve happily settled into your luxurious, ultra-chic, loft-style condominium at 88Hundred Collins, you’ll begin to realize that Surfside, Florida, isn’t just a delicious, laid-back, waterfront haven with over a mile of uninterrupted sand and glorious ocean views from your living room. It’s so much more than that, nestled as you are between the upscale shops of Bal Harbour and the never-ending show that is Miami Beach.
The list of attractions is almost endless, and many of them are just outside your door. Take Third Thursdays, for example. Sponsored by the Downtown Business District and Surfside’s Tourism, Economic Development and Community Services Department, this much-anticipated event series takes place each year during the winter on—as the name implies—the third Thursday of every month, from January through April.
Billed as an arts and entertainment event, Third Thursday is really a giant block party that kicks off at 7 p.m. on 95th Street between Collins and Harding avenues. Actually, it pretty much takes over Harding. It features an array of entertainment from live music and dancing to food trucks featuring some of the tastiest and most eclectic cuisine Florida has to offer. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the music, or put on their dancing shoes and go as the music takes them. You can also mix and mingle and get to know your neighbors in this fun, relaxing atmosphere.
Plus, you’ll find special deals from participating restaurants and stores for the whole family. In fact, the event area is also within walking distance to Surfside’s many fine restaurants and shops, so you’ll likely want to make a whole evening of it. Shop and dine first, party afterward, then head home for a nightcap under the stars on the beautiful rooftop terrace at your Surfside condo at 88Hundred Collins.
This year’s remaining Third Thursdays will be held on March 16th and April 20th from 7-9 p.m. The events are free and open to the public.
